SCSC currently owns two properties -
(12 Acres near Mt Jackson, VA)
(339 Acres in Welcome MD)
The Mt Jackson property is a 12 acre tract of land located near Mt Jackson VA adjacent to the George Washington Forest (some 1.064 million acres). The property is on the side of a mountain and offers hunting, camping and a place to enjoy the great outdoors. There is a small structure built by club members with ‘Murphy Style’ drop down bunk platforms (nothing fancy - you will need a mattress and other sleeping material).

The Welcome property is a 339 acre tract of land located in Welcome MD. It provides fishing, hunting, camping and recreation. As a club, and with the support of its members, our goal is to obtain approval and build a “Club House” with an indoor small arms range. A further and most important goal for many members is to seek approval and create an outdoor ‘Safe Shooting Area’ for various shooting sports.
Directions to the Welcome Property
Take RT6 West from La Plata to Welcome about 7 or 8 miles then turn left on to Gunston....travel about 1 to 2 miles and turn right onto Zetta Mae Pl....you are on the property....there is an old barn on the right a few hundred yrs down the road. There are cables further down the road and they are not locked...only the RT6 entrance…...plus there is second locked cable a few yrds behind the church. There are 2 homes at the end of Zetta Mae so please don’t travel to the end of Zetta Mae…please use the cabled roads to access the property. Just lift the cable off the pole and put it back on after entering or leaving the property.
The RT# 6 entrance and church address is as follows and is locked with a club key.
